St. margaret's
A safe Place
Why is it important?
We believe safety is sacred, and every person deserves protection, dignity, and care. We work to ensure our church remains a welcoming, secure space for all who enter.

We are committed to being a sanctuary for everyone — especially children, young people, and vulnerable adults alike.
How does it work here?
Safeguarding works through trained parish officers, diocesan advisers, and national teams. It involves clear policies, mandatory training, safe recruitment, and prompt response to concerns. The goal is to protect children and vulnerable adults while fostering a culture of safety, care, and accountability.
What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding means protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults from harm.
It ensures that responsible individuals in churches are checked, aware, trained, and that St. Margaret's has policies, practices, and documented processes for parishioners and visitors.
Reporting a concern.
To report a safeguarding concern, contact your parish safeguarding officer or diocesan safeguarding adviser. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For non-emergencies, use the links below.
Never ignore a concern—every report helps protect vulnerable individuals.
A Safe PlacE policy
The care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in church activities is the responsibility of the whole church. Everyone who participates in the life of the church has a role to play in promoting a Safer Church for all.

Safeguarding is an integral part of the mission and ministry of this church. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
